0%The mission of Windsor 4QTR Youth United (W4YU) is to foster a nurturing and inclusive community that empowers inner-city youth and their families, regardless of their economic background. Our aim is to offer enriching opportunities in sports and personal development, creating a platform where young individuals can discover the joy and camaraderie of teamwork, and develop their skills in a supportive environment; ensuring that talented individuals are not hindered by financial constraints or other barriers. We are dedicated to dismantling barriers that prevent young individuals from participating in sports.
The founders of the Windsor 4QTR Youth United are lifelong basketball advocates dedicated to empowering youth through sports and mentorship. With a combined passion for basketball and community development, they bring unique expertise and experience to the program.
One founder has devoted the last 15 years to coaching grassroots and collegiate basketball, honing their skills as a mentor and leader on and off the court. Their extensive coaching experience has equipped them with a deep understanding of the game and its transformative potential to positively impact young lives.
The other founder's journey in coaching and training grassroots basketball inspired them to pursue a bachelor's degree in social work. Their commitment to supporting youth development extends beyond athletics, as they recognize the importance of addressing social and emotional needs to empower young people to succeed both athletically and personally.
Together, the founders combine their passion for basketball with their dedication to youth empowerment and community service, creating a dynamic and impactful program that aims to inspire and uplift the next generation of female athletes and leaders.
